Celebrating Tradition, Culture & Devotion

Welcome to Barisha Saterpalli Sammilani

Welcome to the official website of Barisha Saterpalli Sammilani Durga Puja Committee, where we celebrate one of the grandest festivals of West Bengal.

Durga Puja is a deeply rooted socio-cultural and religious festival, observed by Hindus since ancient times. It commemorates the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. The festival begins with Mahalaya, heralding the arrival of the Goddess. Rituals and celebrations commence on Sasthi, followed by three days of worship where the Goddess is revered in her divine forms as Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. The celebrations conclude on Vijaya Dashami, when the idols are taken out in a grand procession and immersed in a nearby river or lake.

Durga Puja is not just a festival—it is an emotion, a tradition, and an integral part of Bengali culture, celebrated with immense joy by Bengalis across India and around the world.

Through this website, we aim to bring together detailed descriptions, stories, schedules, and photographs under one platform to offer a complete glimpse of our Puja. Here, you will find information on the mythology of Goddess Durga, Puja schedules, and various cultural and community activities.

We sincerely look forward to your support and participation. The core objective of our Puja is to spread a message of peace, harmony, joy, prosperity, love, and happiness—today and forever.
