Durga Puja is an important socio-cultural annual religous Festival observed by Hindu from ancient times. Durga Puja celebrates the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. Durga Puja’s first day is Mahalaya, which heralds the advent of the goddess. Celebrations and worship begin on Sasthi, the sixth day. During the following three days, the goddess is worshipped in her various forms as Durga, Lakshmi, and Sarasvati. The celebrations end with Vijaya Dashami (“Tenth Day of Victory” ), the idols are carried in a procession and finally immersed in a close by river or lake. Bengalis all over India and the world celebrate this great festival as it is a part of their culture.

Our celebrations in the past have always been presented with variety of taste and standard devotion and aesthetics, strengthening bonding with friends and family, cultural activities and obviously with delicacy of lunch. As we step into the 62nd year of celebrations, we intend to make this event much larger in scale over the next few years.
